We definitely need to get Utopia in Garden Park. It's been too long that the fiber has sat and waited at the property line of Garden Park. with as many young people as are moving into the park we could start to sway and get that 33% of residents.

Actually when I got Comcast (much to my ultimate dismay) I had a poke of fun with the chat agent and got her to tell me there is not caps, and then when I mentioned letters people get and terminations, she said she couldn't talk about that. I have a picture of that part somewhere I think.

As far as I understand it our choices for internet, phone, and/or TV, are limited to Comcast or QWest.

I would urge caution when dealing with Comcast. They will terminate your Internet service if you use it too much. Yeah I know how that sounds. But it's happened to several people in my neighborhood of West Jordan Utah. The rub is the company won't tell you what your purchased. How much you can download/consume in a month.

I've been blogging about it most of 2007 to get the word out and warn people. Get everything in writing and the details are important. I've spoken to people across the country who have been terminated. It's a growing problem.

The company will tell you what isn't acceptable and give large numbers in crazy terms which mean nothing in the computer field. On slashdot.org, people made fun of Comcast's response suggesting they perfer to see examples in terms of cassette tapes they can download or 8 track tapes, suggesting how silly their examples were.

I had Comcast four years and rarely had problems with them. But also remember they are building an infrastructure which can't compete with Fiber (Utopia and Verizon FioS). I'm hoping if Utopia isn't the answer, that our Government will demand we build the best. This is America after all and other countries are building Fiber to the home and business.

So why aren't we?
